You might come back to some of the assignment language "Either digitally or on a print out, highlight the images, words and phrases that are used in reference to youth (describing youth or issues that effect youth) and annotate them (i.e. write little notes). Does this language/ image reflect a DEFICIT or ASSET approach? Does it position youth as OBJECTS, RECIPIENTS, or RESOURCES?
Now make changes to any language that you don't agree with. What words need to be altered or rearranged to reflect your view of young people? Post a digital doc or pic of the hardcopy to your blog by Weds Oct 17 and write a few sentences reflecting on the process."
